If you’ve struggled with the impacts of anxiety or trauma, you know better than anyone that it is more than just feeling nervous or overthinking. It can feel like you are being pulled in a million different directions, struggling with decision-making, feeling overwhelmed or feeling ‘not good enough’. You might find yourself apologizing for taking up any kind of space, and may have perhaps heard ‘you’re too sensitive’ so many times that you may have begun to believe it.
Our inner-critic shows up often, trying hard to reinforce those deep-rooted feelings of insecurity or inadequacy. Perhaps your struggle is rooted in sexual or cultural identity, dealing with a chronic illness, or the often invisible but powerful impacts of childhood emotional neglect. Feeling stuck or lost is the space that you are most familiar with, and not knowing where or how to take control can leave you in a paralyzing place.
You don’t have to feel this way. You deserve to feel valued and empowered to take up space.
Imagine what it would be like to feel grounded, empowered, and resilient – what changes would you make in your life? I would like to take that journey with you and help you get there. I help you move in that direction by building on your strengths and providing evidence-based skills-building techniques in a warm, non-judgemental environment.
We’ll work together to build an emotionally safe and understanding space for you to process your feelings, learn to trust them, and build your inner strengths. My goal is to help you know that your feelings are valid, while guiding you through practical strategies and tools, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mind-body techniques, in support of discovering the best strategies that work for you.
I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you to build the life you want.
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of New York and have a background in journalism. My work as a journalist helped me to discover my passion for connecting with people and wanting to have a greater impact. This motivated me to do more with this newly found “self”, so I took the dive into making a career change. Now, I get to apply real-life experience with formal training to do exactly that: Help people change their lives in meaningful and purposeful ways.
